Lisa Russo is a contemporary artist trained in the traditional style. Throughout her education she studied drawing and painting and won numerous awards and has been featured in an extensive amount of publications. Lisa earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts, Master of Education and Master of Fine Arts. Lisa studied with a traditional master oil painter and extended her repertoire of knowledge by painting various masterpieces from the 1600’s. As a former art professor and current art educator she continues to hone her skills while sharing her techniques and knowledge with public and private students. Lisa’s various travels and desire for knowledge has led her to show an affinity for painting the human figure in candid moments.
The influence of the old-world masters is prevalent throughout her work; however, she puts a fresh twist to her figures. Lisa invented a multi-dimensional canvas that has a U.S. Patent and can change from a 2-dimensional trapezoid into a 3-dimensional pyramid. She has shown throughout the Southeastern United States and her work can been in many private and public collections. She created one of the Horse Fever horses for Marion Cultural Alliance’s public art project and her mural work can be seen at Milano’s and Napolino’s Italian Restaurants. There is large collection of her work displayed at Village View Community Church and paintings at the Marion County Archology and History Museum and Shand’s Hospital.
