Halloween Family Fun Run

Saturday, October 29th from 8am-10am at Citizens’ Circle

Run, walk, skip or push a stroller in our annual Costume Family 5K Fun Run.

The 5k will begin 8:30 am at Citizens’ Circle, go through the historic district and end back at Citizens’ Circle. Race solo or join as a team! All proceeds will go to Ocala Recreation and Parks programs. Cost is $5.00 for everyone 8 and older.

Participants can register online or day of event.

Hocus Pocus Brunch Food Tour

On Sunday, October 30, close out spooky season with a fun filled historic walking food tour followed by a showing of the classic Hocus Pocus at The Marion Theatre. You’re in for a devil of the time when three outlandishly wild witches — Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy — return from 17th-century Salem after they’re accidentally conjured up by some unsuspecting pranksters. It’s a night full of zany fun and comic chaos once the tricky 300-year old tri set out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth…but first they must get their act together and outwit three kids and a talking cat.

But Wednesday (Christina Ricci) barely has time to warm up her electric chair before Thing points out Fester’s uncommonly “normal” behavior. Could this Fester be a fake, part of an evil scheme to raid the Addams fortune?

You won’t want to miss this opening concert of the season featuring the full Ocala Symphony Orchestra and some of the spookiest tone poems ever written! Dip your toe into magic with Paul Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and descend into Dante’s Inferno with Tchaikovsky’s Francesca da Rimini – a tale of love, betrayal, and the moaning, swirling souls of the underworld. In the second half of this spooktacular, Mussorgsky asks us to spend a Night on Bald Mountain and we’ll depart into the dark with Dvořák’s The Golden Spinning Wheel, a grotesque story of murder, magic, wolves, forests, and one special spinning wheel.
